CSM Corporation today released construction updates and new renderings of the Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel, The Depot’s latest expansion. The 24,000 square foot event space expansion will transform a parking shed into a vaulted, glass-encased ballroom incorporating original brick, train rails and distinctive railway themes throughout. The major renovation will help the hotel meet rapidly growing demand for event space and marks the next phase of glory for the revitalized community landmark.
CEO Gary Holmes’ conversion of the abandoned Milwaukee Road Depot into a luxury hotel nearly two decades ago spurred on a wave of development in the Riverfront-Mill District. Following a 110-room expansion in 2016 and a complete renovation of the hotel lobby, bar and restaurant in 2017, the new Renaissance Minneapolis event space will open January 2019.
